Start by tiering your client list
The most common client gifting mistake is a single item sent to everyone. It is cheap to organise and it tells your best client that they rank the same as someone who bought once. Spend a half hour sorting the list instead. Use revenue, strategic value or how many people at the client touch your work, whichever your sales head already tracks.
| Tier | Who | Gift | Starting price per gift |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tier 3 | Prospects, one-off and small accounts | Metal pen plus notebook | About Rs106 (Rs22 + Rs84) |
| Tier 2 | Regular clients and repeat buyers | Gift set with diary, or a table clock with a metal pen | About Rs238 for the set; about Rs133 for clock and pen (Rs111 + Rs22) |
| Tier 1 | Top accounts and long partnerships | Award or memento, or luxury silverware | From Rs330 for a memento; from Rs699 for silverware |
Tier 3: useful and small
A premium metal pen with a notebook or diary is the safest first gift for a prospect. The Premium Metal Pen, MPI 3227 is Rs22 and the Diary Notebook, MPAP 020 is a typical notebook pick. It says you are professional without implying a closeness you have not earned yet.
Tier 2: a desk object
Regular clients see your logo for years if the gift sits on their desk. A table clock from Rs111 does this well; the Table Clock, PC 0650 is Rs111. For a ready-made gift, the Gift Set with Diary, MPAP 353 is Rs238 and needs no assembly. Wall clocks from Rs118 suit clients with reception areas or shop floors, such as dealers.
Tier 1: recognition, not a freebie
For the handful of accounts that matter most, the gift should read as recognition. An award or memento from Rs330, such as the Acrylic Trophy, MPI 3623, marks a milestone like a five-year partnership. Luxury silverware starts at Rs699 and suits a Diwali or renewal gift to a decision maker. Keep the quantity small, and add a note signed by the person who owns the relationship.

Gifts by occasion
Timing matters as much as the item. A gift that arrives with a reason lands better than one that arrives from nowhere. These are the occasions that come round every year, with the gift that fits each.
| Occasion | Fitting gift | Order by |
|---|---|---|
| Diwali | Gift set with diary, desk clock or hamper | Artwork approved 22 to 28 October for Diwali 2026; see the Diwali guide |
| New Year | Diary or desk clock for the coming year | Early November for branded orders |

| Project completion | Memento that names the project | Allow time for the proof |

What impresses and what gets binned
Clients receive a lot of gifts in October and December. Most are forgotten. Here is what separates the ones that stay on the desk from the ones that go in the drawer by the end of the week.
| Clients keep | Clients bin |
|---|---|
| Items used every day: pens, diaries, desk clocks | Novelties with no daily use |
| A modest logo in one corner | A giant logo and a slogan across the whole item |
| A weighty, finished product that feels worth more than it cost | Thin plastic that bends or rattles |
| A different gift for different tiers, with a personal note | The same item for every client, with no note |
| Something that fits a work setting | Items that are awkward to carry or display in an office |
| A gift that arrives for a reason, on time | A late gift that arrives after the festival |
Quality beats quantity. One good metal pen is worth more than a pouch of five forgettable items. If budget is tight, move the client down a tier rather than thinning the gift.
Check the recipient gift policy first
Before you ship a gift to a client, find out whether they are allowed to accept it. Many companies, particularly listed companies, multinationals and banks, set a value limit on gifts or ban them outright. Public sector units and government officers work under conduct rules that restrict gifts, and a gift sent to an official can be read very differently from one sent to a private buyer. Pharmaceutical firms and other regulated sectors can face marketing codes that limit gifts to healthcare professionals.
- Ask the client. A short note to their procurement or admin team asking what the gift policy allows takes two minutes and avoids an awkward return.
- Keep a register. Record the recipient, company, gift, value and date. It protects both sides and helps your own finance team.
- Keep values modest and consistent. A gift that looks like an inducement during a live tender causes trouble. Hold gifts until after the decision.
- Do not send cash or vouchers to people you are trying to win. Branded, useful items are easier for a recipient to defend.
Ordering client gifts
How to order corporate gifts for clients
About 90 minutes
- 01
Build and tier the list
Export your client list, assign each a tier and count the quantity per tier. Remove anyone whose company gift policy bars gifts.
- 02
Pick one gift per tier
Choose a gift for each tier from the ranges above, and set a budget per tier before GST. Order a single sample of the Tier 1 gift if you have not handled it before.
- 03
Enter quantities and get the price
Type each quantity on the product page to see the per-unit price. Use the quote form if you are mixing several products.
- 04
Approve the proof
Send your logo and check the proof on the actual product. Branded production of 5 to 7 working days starts from this approval.
- 05
Plan delivery
Decide whether gifts come to your office to be hand-delivered with a note, or go straight to the client. For several addresses, ask about delivery on the quote. Allow 2 to 5 days in transit.
- 06
Send with a personal note
A short signed note from the account owner is what turns the item into a gesture. Keep it specific to the project or year you worked together.
The minimum order is 5 pieces on most products (wall clocks start at 100), so a Tier 1 list of eight accounts is a normal order, not an awkward one. Many suppliers quote 30 to 100 pieces. Per-unit rates fall as quantity rises, by 11 percent at 25 pieces, 16 percent at 50 and 22 percent at 100, and a single piece is available for a sample at a higher rate. Shipping is Rs250 up to Rs5,000, Rs150 up to Rs10,000 and free above Rs10,000, counted before 18 percent GST, and a GST invoice comes with every order.
For budgets and comparisons, see the corporate gift price list and how to choose a corporate gifting company. If the same team also gifts to new hires, employee joining kit ideas covers that side.
